Altneuland Press

Our mission is to bring Hebrew literature to the world.
 

Founded in Berlin, Germany, we are an international Hebrew publishing house engaged in global distribution, both in Hebrew and in translation, and the first Hebrew publishing house outside the State of Israel since its foundation.

Altneuland Press is named after Theodor Herzl's utopian book, Altneuland, which was translated into Hebrew as "Tel Aviv". We envision our own “Old-New Land” that gives voice to contemporary Hebrew, wherever it is spoken and written.

The press aims to publish 6-8 books a year beginning in 2025 in a variety of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, visual arts, and poetry. 

​

Altneuland Press was founded by writers Dr. Dory Manor and Moshe Sakal. The press's translation consultant is Jessica Cohen, winner of the International Booker Prize for her translation of Israeli author David Grossman.
