Itamar Orlev

Itamar Orlev is a writer and literary editor. His debut novel, Bandit (Am Oved), won the Sapir Prize for Debut Novel and has so far been translated into five languages. In France, it was a finalist for several awards, including the Prix Femina, and won Points' 2020 Best Novel Award. Orlev studied screenwriting at the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School and history at Tel Aviv University. Over the years, he has published short stories in literary journals, written plays, and published a children's book titled The Lazy Sloth (Am Oved). He has edited numerous books for publishing houses and individuals, worked as a ghostwriter, and written many family memoirs. Orlev gives writing workshops focused on memoirs and lives in Berlin with his wife and three children.
