Moshe Sakal

Moshe Sakal is a writer, editor and co-founder of the publishing house Altneuland. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, he has lived in Paris and Jaffa. His work has been translated into English (Other Press), French (Stock) and German. Sakal has published six novels. His writing explores themes of identity, family, exile, and sexuality, interwoven with cultural and personal memory.

His columns, essays, and book excerpts have appeared in Haaretz, Le Monde, and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He has twice been shortlisted for the Sapir Prize, received the Prime Minister's Prize for Hebrew Writers, and the Berlin Senate Fellowship for Non-German Literature.

He lives in Berlin with his partner Dory Manor and their daughter.
